Dr. Mario Brkaric is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, who specializes in spine. Dr. Brkaric graduated medical school and completed his residency at the State University of New York Health Sciences, Center Downstate Medical Center of Brooklyn. He went on to complete his fellowship in orthopedic surgery of the spine at William Beaumont Hospital. In 2010, Dr. Brkaric was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). With both national and international recognition, Dr. Brkaric is the author of numerous articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Since 2006, Dr. Brkaric has been serving individuals and their loved ones from Lafayette, Rensselaer, and Logansport. Dr. Brkaric offers several surgical and non-surgical approaches for the treatment of the musculoskeletal system, including bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves. His areas of expertise include spinal deformity, degenerative conditions, spinal trauma, minimally invasive technology, and dynamic and motion preserving technology.
Dr Brkaric's bedside manner is phenomenal! He is very caring and respectful of your situations. I am about to have second surgery with him. I highly recommend him for any surgical needs.

Everyone start to finishes I’m trusting that the pain I’m having in back and neck k is apart of the healing process as I was told, but it almost feels like a plate or screw is snagging on something inside. I know that’s not true. It’s just the feeling I have and by the end of the day it feels like I’ve been standing on concrete all day, my whole back aches is that part of my spine because my posture is better I don’t know. I do know I was released to go back to work as usual and at 61 it’s not like I’m running a marathon. I’m just doing day-to-day task.
I’m also a little concerned that the scar and what feels like scar tissue underneath will never go down. My surgery was On April 15 today is June 30
I’m a repeat offender as Dr. Brkaric has operated on me multiple times. He’s the best. From the first visit, MRI, results, scheduling, surgery and follow up, everyone is top notch and first class. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to get me back to being healthy.
Dr. Brkaric was thorough in explaining my mri results and treatment options. If the steroid injection is not effective for my ruptured disc, Dr. Brkaric will be my surgeon of choice.
