Bryan™ Cervical Disc
The Bryan Cervical Disc, manufactured by Medtronic, received FDA approval in May 2009. This disc is used to treat cervical degenerative disc disease, a common cause of neck and arm pain as a result of the natural aging process or trauma. This recently approved Bryan Cervical Disc now provides patients an ideal treatment alternative to a standard fusion. With this treatment patients remain active and maintain their neck motion.
Physicians with Indiana Spine Group have been involved with the clinical trials for the Bryan Cervical Disc. In May 2002, spine surgeons Drs. Rick Sasso and Kenneth Renkens, implanted the first Bryan Cervical Disc in the United States. Additionally, Dr. Sasso testified at the FDA hearings in July 2007 where the disc received preliminary FDA approval.
